8/17/2009Dear Parents,
I am so excited to have your child in my classroom this year. We will be learning a tremendous amount of material. If you have any questions about the class work, homework, grading or the standards of learning, please give me a call at the number provided. In the beginning we will be reviewing Virginia's geography, rounding, comparing numbers and learning our place value chart. Every week your child will have word study words for that week. These are differentiated according to their spelling needs. These tests will be given every Thursday. Also, every week our child will have vocabulary words to study and re-read their stories from class. Every Thursday we will be having a comprehension test on the story of the week and a vocabulary test. All math and social studies tests will be given when the unit comes to an end. If your child is absent from school for a day, it is their responsibility to get the homework and class work from me. If you know your child will be absent ahead of time, please let me know and I will be more than happy to send the work early. I believe we are going to have a great year and I hope that our communication and commitment to your child's learning will continue throughout the year.
Thanks for all your support,
Miss Morris
