Happy Spring!

The children have been very excited to be back in school after a wonderful break.  We enjoyed a planting session with the Master Gardeners on Tuesday.  We are anxiously watching our Peter Rabbit Gardens for signs of sprouting! The Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation office (Orange office - Spencer Yager) has donated two rain barrels to help keep our garden watered.  We watched Mr. Wright, Mrs. Wright and Patrick Herndon set up the rain barrels on Thursday afternoon, just in time for the big rain.  Next week, we will have another planting project!

We have had a fun week reading about the Gingerbread Man.  We have tasted gingerbread and created a special art project that will be coming home soon.  Many thanks to our special volunteers who made the cookies and helped us create.

In math, we are concentrating on learning to recognize, count objects and write our numbers to 15.  We are also learning to count backwards from ten and to 50 by ones.  Extra practice at home will help us master these skills quickly.
